To the editor:
Over the past few months, I have had two occasions to need services provided by Lewistown Hospital's emergency department.
My first visit started with brief registration, followed by triage, then to an exam room to be seen by the doctor, on to X-ray and then back to the emergency room for treatment of fractures, and to receive discharge instructions. This all happened within 60 minutes. Unbelievable? Most unusual, but it really did happen.
My next visit to the emergency room resulted in hospital admission. The nursing staff carried out their duties in a professional manner. They did all they could to make my six-day hospital stay pleasant and comfortable. we are privileged to have our small town Lewistown Hospital available to meet our health care needs.
I am also grateful that Geisinger Medical Center and Hershey Medical Center are available to provide the more sophisticated care and treatment as needed.
