Reader says there’s little one can do on health care

To the editor:

Obamacare: Who needs it? I hear so many politicians saying if elected I will repeal Obamacare.

Everyone wants to repeal, but no one wants to do any real work and put something in to revise some policies on health care. I do not feel it's right for hospitals and doctors to bill insurance companies a higher rate than a person who pays on their own.

In the end, my rates I pay for insurance are based upon what my carrier has to pay out. Many people do not want to buy health insurance, but what is their plan to pay for a large medical bill some day? A hand out? Declare bankruptcy on the doctor and hospital?

I know someone who could afford health insurance and did not buy it. They had a big accident, large bill. Some of the area people were going around collecting money for him and got mad at me because I made the statement they don't help pay for my insurance why should I help pay for their medical bill?

Does it all really matter? The little guy has no say in the world anyways.
