EAST WATERFORD - Daniel I. Clark, current school board director for Juniata County Region 9, is running a write-in campaign to keep the position, according to a press release issued Monday by the candidate.
Two years ago, Clark was appointed to the Region 9 seat after it was vacated by the previous director, the release states.

Clark said he is dedicated to transparency. He routinely held public meetings to inform his constituents about school district issues, to ask for their opinions and to vote the way the majority wished him to, the release states.
"I was once told by a school board director that my opinion did not count," Clark said. "I vowed that if I ever got into that position I would do everything in my power to guarantee that every constituent's opinion would count."
He said he does not have a personal agenda other than to effectively represent his constituents by making decisions to provide the best education possible for children at a cost the taxpayer can afford.
"I am keenly aware of our children's educational needs," Clark said in the release. "Being retired, and on a fixed income, I can relate only too well to the effects of this declining economy."
Clark is retired and married with two children. His wife, Abbie, works for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. His son, Seth, is in his second year at Virginia Military Institute, and his daughter, Sarah, is a junior at Juniata High School.
Juniata County School Board Region 9 includes Lack and Tuscarora townships. The municipal election is Nov. 8.
