MIFFLINTOWN - Juniata County attorney Randall Zimmerman appears to have acquired enough write-in votes to be placed on the Democratic ticket for the November election.

Election officials in Juniata County report Zimmerman secured 125 write-in votes for Juniata County District Attorney on the Democratic ballot.

Juniata County District Attorney Cory Snook secured 4,067 votes on the Republican ticket. Snook ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.

When reached for comment on Friday, Zimmerman said he was caught off guard by the news.

Zimmerman knew there was talk in the community to write his name in on the ballot, however he was unsure how successful the campaign would be.

Zimmerman said he has not yet made up his mind on whether he will run.

Zimmerman has practiced law in Juniata County for 32 years and at one point was assistant district attorney for the county.
