"I would like the opportunity to serve in a greater leadership capacity by continuing to improve efficiency and service to the residents of Snyder County," Kratzer said in the release.

Kratzer said her 12 years of experience have given her insight into the responsibilities as Treasurer, such as reconciling bank accounts, compiling point of sale and monthly reports of computerized hunting, fishing and dog licenses, and issuing bingo and small games of chance licenses.

"My goal is to maintain honesty, integrity and dependability in the Treasurer's Office," she said.

Throughout the year, the treasurer's office works with 21 municipal tax collectors. Kratzer assisted in the family business, Stahl's Sawmill and Logging Supplies, by completing payroll and bookkeeping responsibilities with her husband, Kenneth, prior to working in the treasurer's office.

Kratzer also serves as treasurer of the Snyder County Republican Women and is an active member of the Liverpool Bible Baptist Church. She resides with her husband in Chapman Township.

The primary election will be held May 17.
