ALTOONA - Mary M. Keresey, 58, of Altoona, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at Altoona Regional Health System- Altoona Hospital Campus, after an extended illness.
Mary was born July 5, 1952, in Meshoppen, daughter of Frank and Jane (Bashore) Marhefka. She was married on Nov. 9, 1974, to David W. Keresey.
Mary is survived by her husband; mother; sons, Daniel P. Keresey and fiance Barb Bordell, of Altoona, Ryan J. and wife Holly, of Bellefonte; daughter, Rachael A. Lenhart and husband Michael, of Altoona; two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Madison; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mary was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Mifflintown and was employed as a case manager with Omni Home Care in Tyrone.
Mary graduated from Juniata High School in Mifflintown, attended Messiah College, and received her LPN degree from Juniata Technical School and her RN degree from Mt. Aloysius College.
She enjoyed reading, going on cruises, knitting baby blankets and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a season ticket holder for the Altoona Curve and was a member of the Altoona Curve Booster Club and was a supporter of the Relay for Life.
Mary was predeceased by her father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at The Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor William Esborn. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
