LEWISTOWN - Mifflin County's American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader on Friday afternoon in part of the Bellefonte Showdown at Rec Park.
In the first outing, the locals topped Mid-State by a 7-0 final score as Cody Heane and Kody Stein combined for a three-hitter.
Heane also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a run batted in while Hunter Walker also drove in two on a pair of hits.
In the second contest, Mifflin County had a four-run second inning and a five-run third to take a 10-3 decision over Team Dynasty.
Zane McNitt led the hitting attack in the contest, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Heane also picked up three RBIs on two hits.
The locals (9-4-1) are back in action today with two more games at Rec Park.

LEWISTOWN - The scheduled doubleheader between DuBois and the Mifflin County Stars will not be played today. Instead, Mifflin County accepted Dubois' forfeit and has clinched a tie of the league championship with Kersey at an 8-2 mark.
Playoffs will begin July 10.
