February 8, 2010
Lewistown Sentinel

East Derry Fire Co. Captain Brian Williams, far right, makes his way to the roof to fight back the flames Sunday evening at a residence at 25 Truck Lane in Paintersville. Firefighters were called to a house owned by Ray Diven for a chimney fire but found fire filling inside the home and spilling from the roof upon their arrival. The American Red Cross was called to assist the Diven family displaced by the fire. Decatur, East Derry, Yeagertown, Highland Park, Reedsville, City, Junction and Granville fire companies and Fame EMS assisted at the scene. Decatur Fire Chief Todd Shawver said Sunday evening that the house is completely damaged and is a total loss. Additional information was unavailable as of press time.
