Donald H. and Freida M. (Hackenberg) Doebler, of Lewistown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6.
They were married in 1959 at Zion EUB Church in Middleburg by the Rev. Dr. Claude Hall.
The couple celebrated their anniversary at a dinner with their children and grandchildren at Red Lobster.

They are the parents of Don Jr. and Tina Howard, of Lynchburg, Va.; and Kevin, Brian and Faith, of Lewistown. They have six grandchildren: Daniel, David and Lily Doebler, and Daisy, Isaac and Joshua Howard.
Donald is a retired educator from the Mifflin County School District.
Freida is retired as a nurse's aid from Ohesson Manor. She remains active in doing private duty.
They attribute the success of their marriage to serving God, church and family.
