REEDSVILLE - Dorothy Z. Sieber, 82, a resident of Elmcroft, Reedsville, and formerly of 309 E. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 15, 1927, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Margaret (Coutry) in Muthersbaugh. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Homer B. Casner, on Dec. 3, 1969, and Neil A. Sieber on Sept. 24, 1997.
Surviving are her children, Marsha Ettinger and husband Ron, of McClure, John W. Casner of York, Shirley Shellenberger-Linde and husband Eric of York, Gerald R. Casner and wife Leslie of Etters, Eldon J. Casner and wife Roberta of Lewistown, Catherine Weaver and husband Les of Kane, Thomas E. Casner of York and Mary Sine of Mount Joy.
Also surviving are step children Linda Schnatter and husband Rob of Clinton, NJ, and James Sieber and wife Luisa of Jersey City, NJ; 18 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Muthersbaugh and three sisters, Sarah Jemison, Margaret Kline and Mildred Frohm.
She was a homemaker and worked at the American Legion Post 90 for a number of years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She was also a member of Fame Fire Co., City Hook & Ladder Fire Co., Brooklyn Hose Co. and BPOE Lodge 663.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey F. Thoms officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m. Tuesday until 10:45 a.m. at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
