Donald and Sylvia Kepner, of Port Royal, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4, 2009, with an open house at the Port Royal Community Building.
She is the daughter of the late Leroy and Dorothy Fogel, of Mount Pleasant Mills. She has been employed as an accountant for 50 years. He is the son of the late John and Gertrude Kepner, of Port Royal. He is retired.
The Kepners enjoy Penn State sports and are avid fans of football, as well as men's and women's basketball. They also are NASCAR fans and have attended races.

During their married life, the Kepners have traveled to 48 states and still enjoy traveling.
They attribute their long marriage to talking things out when there are differences, and their belief in the church and God.
