LEWISTOWN - Unofficial election results name incumbent Tammy Hunter as the winner of the race for Magisterial District Judge in district 58-3-03, on Tuesday.

"I want thank the voters of Armagh, Menno, Brown and Union townships. I am so grateful for their help and support. I also want to thank all my friends who helped this year - they stood by me all year long and I'm so grateful," said Hunter on Tuesday evening.

Based on unofficial returns, Hunter secured 1,453 votes and there were a total of 1,206 write-in votes cast in that race. On Oct. 1, Carla E. Byler announced her intention to run a write-in campaign for the position. Just who the write-in votes were cast for will be determined when the ballots are verified by the county board of elections.

Hunter has served as judge for six years in the district, which includes the townships of Armagh, Brown, Menno and Union in Mifflin County.

Hunter faced off against Byler during the May primary, and was able to secure both the Republican and Democratic nominations.
