Robert and JoAn Slautterback, of Port Royal, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by spending a weekend in Rochester, N.Y., accompanied by their daughter, Patricia Knouse, of Licking Creek, and granddaughter, Tara E. Buck, of Rochester.

The Slautterbacks were married Oct. 22, 1949, at the Port Royal Lutheran Church, where they are still members.

In New York, they were treated to a home-cooked meal upon their arrival.

The next day, they bought mums and apple cider at the Powers Farm Market in Pittsford, before returning to the city for some shopping at Parkleigh on Park Avenue. Upon suffering disappointment when the Phillies' game was called for weather, they ventured out once again to Pittsford, where they enjoyed a champagne toast and a late meal of lambchops and rich dark chocolate desserts at Black and Blue, a steakhouse and raw bar.

They enjoyed a Sunday brunch before heading home to Juniata County, taking in the already-changing leaves of the Finger Lakes region and Northern Pennsylvania.

They also are the parents of Robert G. Slautterback, of McHenry, Md., and grandparents of John R. and Amanda Rue Knouse, of Lothian, Md., Amber (Polk) and Ryan Henson, of Hedgesville, W. Va., and Danielle Polk, of Ridgeley, W. Va.

To share in their celebration, friends may send cards to the Slautterbacks, 831 Market St., Port Royal, PA 17082.
