BELLEVILLE - Roy G. Fultz, 92, of Valley View Haven, and formerly of 24 Greenwood Road, Belleville, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 27, 1917, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Roy J. Fultz and Kate E. (Carson) Fultz. His wife, Ruby Mae (Heimbaugh) Fultz, whom he married Dec. 23, 1939, preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 1974. Surviving are: children, Lawrence G. "Bud" Fultz and wife Jane, of Belleville, Gary R. Fultz and wife Esther K. of Belleville, Pamela D. Himes and husband Neil of Belleville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving: brothers and sisters, Pearl Henderson, of Huntingdon, Pauline Clinger, of Lewistown, William Fultz, of Wormleysburg, Thomas Fultz and wife Viola, of Huntingdon, James Fultz and wife Sandy, of Belleville, Robert Fultz and wife Betty Jane, of North Smithfield, RI, and a sister-in-law, Lenore Fultz, of Pleasant Gap.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Shawn Matthew Fultz on Aug. 23, 1966, and Dennis E. Fultz on May 4, 1963; three brothers, Richard, Glen and Ralph Fultz; and one sister, Betty G. Fultz.
Roy retired on May 1, 1979, after 38 years of service as a machinist at New Holland.
He was a former member of the Belleville Fire Company, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville; and a member of Camp Valley View.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time at camp.
A funeral service will be held in his honor at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville with Pastors Paul Kampa and Rosalie Smith officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.
His family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville.
