PORT ROYAL - Marion L. Stratford, 85, of 408 Tuscarora St., Port Royal, died at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Reedsville, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Rebecca H. (Hetrick) Swartzell. Her husband, William Stratford, preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1999.
She is survived by a companion, William Roberts; children, Linda Rager and husband Dennis J. Rager, of Lewistown, and Kurt A. Ferster and wife Nancy, of Reedsville; four grandchildren, Lucas Ferster, Loren Ferster, Ronald W. B. Aurand and Kimbra Shriver; and three great-grandchildren, Ronald A. N. Aurand, Jordan A. T. Aurand and Chad A. Shriver.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Charles A. Swartzell.
She was a graduate of Reedsville High School.
She was a member of Port Royal Lutheran Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Pastor Charles L. Hershberger officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
Family will receive friends the hour before service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
