Mr. and Mrs. Jesse F. Davis, of Lewistown, recently observed their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on July 10, 1949, at the Calvary Independent Church of the Brethren in Lewistown, by the Rev. Harold Snider. They are charter members of the Calvary Bible Church, now located in Ferguson Valley.
She is the former Patricia Ann Wilson, and a native of Lewistown. She is the daughter of the late Lee and Marie (Bowlby) Wilson. She graduated from Derry Township High School in Yeagertown in 1948. Early in her career, she was employed as an administrative assistant for Krentzman and Sons, and later worked for the Burnham Sewer Authority and the Lewistown Housing Authority in that same capacity.
He is a native of Yeagertown. He is the son of the late William and Freda (Nevel) Davis. He graduated from Derry Township High School in Yeagertown in 1944 and received a Bachelor of Sciene degree from Bucknell University in 1948, in commerce and finance. He was a member of the Navy V12 stationed in Lewisburg and Rochester, N.Y. from 1944 to 1946. Early in his career, he was employed as a traveling auditor for the Textile Workers Union of America in New York City, and for the Lewistown Shirt Factory as an accountant. He retired in 1986 after 26 years as controller for New Holland in Belleville.

They are the parents of two children: Richard (Margaret Petrie) Davis, of Reedsville, and Rhonda (Ben Sweeney) Davis, of Jersey Shore;five grandchildren: Emily (Lucas) Newcomer, of Kissimmee Fla.; Jess Davis, of Reedsville; Libby McCardle, of New York City; Adrienne McCardle and Britt McCardle, of Williamsport; and one great-grandson, Zachary Newcomer.
In honor of their anniversary, a weekend celebration was hosted by their children and grandchildren at Little Pine State Park in Waterville.
