LEWISTOWN - A recent transplant from the "Golden State" has decided to continue her work as a professional groomer in Lewistown.
Carol Strittmatter has over two decades of experience grooming animals on the other side of the Continental Divide.
In addition to her background in grooming, Strittmatter is a retired barrel race rider and she as 12 horses of her own, which she brought with her from California.
"I used to barrel race, it was something I really enjoyed. I retired eight years ago," she said with a big smile.
Strittmatter worked in the grooming industry for 10 years in Idaho and 17 years in California, but then in November 2008, she decided it was time to had east with her significant other.
Stritttmatter is a certified Pet Grooming Specialist and renews that certification often.

Her business is run out of a room in her home, which she converted to accommodate the necessary grooming and boarding equipment she needed. Strittmatter also boards both cats and dogs.
"I do bath, brush and nails for both cats and dogs," Strittmatter said
"Nobody grooms cats around here to the best of my knowledge," she added.
"I do pick up and delivery for seniors and disabled people, from a reasonable distance," Strittmatter said of how she is willing to help those may who have trouble moving around.
