To the editor:
April is National Donor Awareness month. Just one organ and tissue donor can help as many as 50 people by giving them a chance to stop waiting and start living again.
One donor can keep a family together. One donor can give an adult or child a real taste at life. You may save someone's life someday. What an awesome legacy that you can leave behind!
I encourage everyone to consider the thousands of lives that organ and tissue donors have saved and to consider committing to becoming a donor.
I am a living kidney donor to my son and a registered organ donor. At some point down the road, my son is going to rely on someone else, whether living or deceased, to give him another kidney to survive.
There are so many people on organ transplant lists around the United States waiting for that call or notification that a donor organ has been found.
I support organ donation and as my bumper sticker states "You can't take your organs with you to heaven!"
