Juniata County dispatchers called numerous fire companies to a reported fire at the Energex American Inc. facility at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Port Royal. Officials upgraded the severity of the fire to a third alarm, calling fire companies from Mifflin and surrounding counties. Chief officer for Port Royal Fire Company, Duane Hart, said the fire was located in a dust bin within the structure and was contained by 8:30 p.m. Fayette, Beale, Port Royal, Friendship, Ickesburg, Thompsontown, Delaware, East Waterford, East Salem, Burnham, Highland Park, Blain and Mifflintown fire companies responded to the fire on Tuesday.
