UNIVERSITY?PARK - The Pittsburgh Pirates announced that Gary Robinson will be the manager of the State College Spikes.
Robinson will be joined by pitching coach Mike Steele and hitting coach Brandon Moore.
Robinson is the fourth manager in as many years for the Spikes. He replaces Brad Fischer, who left to take a position as the third-base coach for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Robinson has served for the last 10 seasons as a Triple-A umpire evaluator for Major League Baseball.
Mike Zalno was named the team's athletic trainer.
