Robert E. and Mary "Sue" (Loudenslager) Beatty, of Lewistown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 20. The couple celebrated by holding a congregation party with family at Derry Township Park.
They were married Sept. 20, 1958, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, with Wilbur Arnold conducting the service.
They are the parents of James and Susan Beatty, both of Lewistown, and Sandra Lindenberger, Carrie Downs and Benjamin Beatty, all of Centerville, Md. The couple has eight grandchildren.

Robert retired from Heidi Bakery in Silver Springs, Md., after 30 years.
The couple attributes the success of their marriage to keeping Jehovah as a third person in their marriage.
