Lee and Marjorie Gill, of Lewisburg, formerly of McVeytown, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
On June 14, 1958, Lee Gill and Marjorie Yoder were united in marriage in the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with the Rev. J. Richard Gottshall officiating. Again on June 14, 2008, they renewed their vows in the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with the Rev. J. Richard Gottshall of Roanoke, Va., officiating.
The Gills lived in the McVeytown area, where Lee was a general contractor until 1977, when they moved to Lewisburg.

David White, of McVeytown, was again their best man, and Linda Yoder Laub, of Jersey Shore, was again their bridesmaid. Their pianist was again Elma Dunmire Yoder, of Millsboro, Del., and Jerry Grassmyer, of Mattawana, was their soloist.
Their sons, Rex and Todd, served as ushers. Lee wore the same suit and bow tie that he wore 50 years ago.
A replica of their original wedding cake was served at a reception after the ceremony at the McVeytown Fire Hall where a meal was served for their 125 guests. Thirty-seven of their original guests were in attendance.
Lee and Marjorie both graduated from Rothrock High School. Lee built many houses in the area and Marjorie was a homemaker. They have four children, all born in Lewistown.
Their family consists of: son Rex and wife, Teresa, and their children, Amber, Megan, Chelsea and Marissa, of Winfield; daughter Julie and husband, Dean Kreider, and their children, Clint, Amanda and Adam Culp, of Mifflinburg; son Todd and wife, Donna, of Lanexa, Va., and daughter Darienne, of Austin, Texas; and daughter Natasha and husband, Duane D'Orazio, and their children, Liviana and Luca, of Lancaster.
Lee retired from construction and Marjorie retired from banking in 2003.
They are enjoying retirement with their children and grandchildren and many friends in Lewisburg and the McVeytown area.
