LEWISTOWN — Area residents are reminded that if mailing their taxes with the U.S. Postal Service, their return will be considered filed by the Internal Revenue Service if postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.

Post offices in Mifflin, Juniata and Snyder counties will follow regular hours on Tuesday. Drop boxes located throughout the area have scheduled mail pick up times located on them.

Those individuals who miss the deadline for local post offices and drop boxes can take their tax returns to the Harrisburg Main Post Office, located at 1425 Crooked Hill Rd. in Harrisburg, until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday. Additionally, the Harrisburg office will offer extended window hours until 8 p.m. that evening
