Two appointed to board
MIFFLINTOWN — Richard E. Rhine and Sam Ritzman recently were appointed to the Fermanagh Advisory Board of The First National Bank of Mifflintown.
Rhine retired as a math teacher from the Elizabethtown Area School District and now operates a farm. He also is the newsletter editor for the Mifflintown Lions Club and was a past director for the Juniata County Farm Bureau. Rhine and his family reside near Mifflin.
Ritzman is a retired school teacher from the Greenwood School District who is now employed as a substitute teacher. He also is serves as the treasurer and an elder for Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, a member of the Habitat for Humanity board and secretary for the Lost Creek Trout Club. Ritzman and his family reside in Oakland Mills.
Maines is recognized
LEWISTOWN — Firestone Building Products Co., LLC recently named David M. Maines Associates, Inc. a 2008 Firestone Master Contractor.
Mifflin native gets award
HUNTINGDON — Charlie Goodale, a Mifflin native who now resides in West Grove, received the Harold B. Brumbaugh Alumni Service Award from Juniata College.
Nipple is queen candidate
COCOLAMUS —Lindsey Nipple, a student at East Juniata High School, is a candidate for Laurel Queen at the Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival in Wellsboro. She is the daughter of Peggy and Rusty Nipple.
Senior centers menus listed
MIDDLEBURG —The Snyder County Foster Parent Association presented its annual award for Resource Family of the Year to Bill and Catherine Flather, who have served as foster parents for 14 years.
