LEWISTOWN — One local woman’s journey to a healthier lifestyle was given a boost last month as the Mifflin County Meltdown emerged in the Juniata Valley. Angie Fetters, of Lewistown, had begun focusing on getting healthy last July when she quit her job. She concentrated on working out and developed a new eating plan, she said, through the help of Curves and Weight Watchers. From July to December, she lost 30 pounds and 13 inches, she said. Then the holidays came around, Fetters said, and she hit a plateau. Then, the Mifflin County Meltdown happened. The meltdown, though an entire community effort, first was implemented by Marge Delozier-Noss, of the Burnham Curves, and Jim Tunall, president of the Juniata River Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, with the goal to raise awareness of the need to take responsibility for one’s health, help people become fit, have fun and maybe even lose weight.
