Church grateful for support of Vacation Bible School

To the editor:

Thank you!

The annual Third Street community Vacation Bible School at First United Methodist Church, Lewistown was a “Roaring” success because of the great volunteer efforts of women and men of the following churches:

St. John’s Lutheran, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Lewistown Presbyterian, First Baptist (Calvary), First UMC — special thanks to Elaine Baxter for her leadership!

Huge thanks to Mr. Gyke McCardle for his craftsmanship and to the custodial staff at FUMC for their work.

The following businesses also generously contributed donations to the VBS and we are blessed to work with them in the community: Hartley’s Potato Chips, Lewistown Paper Company, Rita’s, Hoss’s, Texas Roadhouse (State College)

Also, these local businesses offered gift cards that helped defray dinner preparation costs each evening: Giant Lewistown, Giant Burnham, Sharp Shopper and Weis. Thank you!

We live in a great community surrounded by wonderful energetic people in the churches listed above, the businesses that support us with their gracious offers, and Jesus Christ who reminds us that when life is tough, God is good. Roar!
