Work of many makes Community Day a success

To the editor:

There are many thank yous to extend to all the volunteers who helped to make Reedsville Community Day a success. The weather was gorgeous and many, many people turned out to shop the town-wide yard sales and support the vendors and activities at Bender Park.

This year, a dunk tank was sponsored by Brindel’s Hardware and two of the Brown Township Supervisors, Mifflin County Regional Police and Reedsville baseball coaches took their turns in the tank as many people took aim at them. Thank you Metzler Forest Products for sponsoring the PA Professional Lumber Jack Association demonstrations.

Layla, a Holstein cow, did her job for cow paddy bingo. Larry Stroup of Belleville won the cash prize. Many ladies helped prepare strawberries, bake pie shells and assemble pies for the association’s strawberry pie sale.

Aubrey Evans was crowned Little Miss Reedsville by Rocklyn Goss, Little Miss Reedsville 2018.

Without the helping hands of many hard working volunteers, events like this would not be possible.
