Senate Bill 76 would help more than just wealthy
To the editor:
I read a letter in the Oct. 13 Sentinel claiming Scott Wagner’s plan (Senate Bill 76) to end property taxes is a bad idea. I beg to differ.
I would like to inform the letter writer that I and many other property owners are not wealthy estate holders whose income comes from capital gains and dividends. Property taxes create a severe and unjust burden on me and many others twice every year.
A fairer and less burdensome way of paying for public schools would be a system such as Scott Wagner proposes. I encourage all voters to vote for those candidates that support the elimination of school property taxes.
