Great resource is available for Medicare information

To the editor:

I am going to be 65 years old and I’ve been reading the piles of information I receive about Medicare. I’ve read the Medicare 2018 book several times to be certain I understood how to go about making the best choices for me. There are so many choices and all have different results for different reasons.

Then a friend told me about the APPRISE Program at Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services in Lewistown. She strongly encouraged me to call them and make an appointment because “these folks will help you walk through all the ‘ins and outs’ of Medicare and they will explain all the options in order for you to make the best decision.”

I met with one of the APPRISE staff today and wow, am I glad I did! I learned so much that was not in the Medicare book. They did explain all the options available to me and how each one worked. With good background information, I was able to make my decisions with confidence. And they helped me see ways I could save money with my medical bills. These folks are a wealth of important information about Medicare.

If you live in Mifflin or Juniata counties and you are turning 65 years old, I strongly encourage you to call and make an appointment with the Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services at (717) 242-0315. What an excellent resource we have in our community and it is free! Thank you for your expert help.
