Milroy Lions to hold spaghetti dinner Nov. 17

To the editor:

The Milroy Lions Club wishes to announce our November spaghetti supper. It will be held on Nov. 17 at the White Memorial Church, Main Street, Milroy. We will be serving from 4 to 7 p.m.

As always we will be donating the entire net profit to a worthy clause.

This month’s donation will be given to Shelter Services Inc., Depot Street, Lewistown. With the cooperation of the shelter administration it is our wish that this donation will start a fund to replace the roof on the Depot Street property.

We are urging individuals, Service clubs, Sunday school classes, churches, businesses and any other contacts you may have to help raise funding for this specific project. Any money raised over the amount needed for this job will be used at the discretion of the board of directors and administration of Shelter Inc.

I am specifically asking roofing contractors to consider donating their expertise and labor for this project. Due to county, state and national laws we can no longer as a group of volunteers just

do this project.

With donated labor we can probably reduce the amount of money needed approximately 50 percent.

Last month’s supper was a great success. Thanks to all of you who came out to support our effort, without public support we can do nothing.

Thanks again for supporting us as we try to live up to our motto-“We Serve.”

We charge by donation only. So come out and join us for a good meal and fellowship as we reach out to our community.

P.S. It is our wish that any money other than the meal donation be sent directly to Shelter Services Inc., Depot Street, Lewistown, ear marked for the roof

project.

There will be no meal in December. We will resume in January 2017.

Please remember in your prayers those who need the shelter. (There but by the Grace of God go I.)
