Are we still truly one nation under God?
To the editor:
As citizens of this great country, we are about to vote on the direction of our nation for generations to come. Whoever wins this election will appoint Supreme Court justices which will make this statement, fact. At the present time, the two candidates are hurling accusations of government misconduct and sexually bad behavior back and forth. There are many serious problems to consider as we try to decide who we are going to vote for.
Terrorism … the economy… race relations … immigration… and many more.
As a Christian, I have decided to focus my decision on who to vote for on one issue, which sadly I don’t hear being talked about much. The issue I am referring to is Mrs. Clinton’s desire to make partial birth abortion legal in this country. If elected, she will appoint Supreme Court justices to do this. Let me make myself clear–as a born-again Christian, I am opposed to abortion of a living human being at any stage of their development after the moment of conception. The only exception of this being when the life of the mother is in jeopardy. Having said this, I must say, however, that the procedure used in a partial birth abortion is hideous and rises to the level of inhumane cruelty.
Judge for yourself:
The partial birth abortion procedure used from the fifth month of pregnancy and later involves pulling a living baby, feet first out of the mother’s womb, except for the head, then puncturing the baby’s skull, and suctioning out the child’s brain. Since Mrs. Clinton is in favor of making this revolting procedure the law of the land, she must consider herself to be deity and wanting complete control over the life and death of human beings made in the image and likeness of God, from the moment of conception up to and including the moment of full-term natural child birth. It is my opinion that Mrs. Clinton is as far from deity as Heaven is from Hell.
What I am speaking of in this letter is infanticide, pure and simple. If we as a nation accept this, what will be next? If by law we can murder innocent, helpless babies at any stage of their development, up to the moment of natural full-term childbirth, then why not go into nursing homes and exterminate the old and impaired, who are a drain on society? A few years ago, Sarah Palin spoke of the danger of death panels emerging in our country. Elitists in positions of power deciding who is to live and who is to die. I believe this is a description of a future Supreme Court, if Hillary Clinton is elected president.
The Bible says in Psalm 139:13-16: “For thou didst form my inward parts; though didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are thy works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from Thee when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance, and in thy book, they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet, there was not one of them.”
In closing I simply say this:
1. If we say we are one nation under God…
2. If we say “In God we trust”…
3. If we believe we are fearfully and wonderfully made by an all loving and all powerful God…
4. If as a nation, we have any sense of morality and decency left at all…
How can we then elect a person to lead this nation, who would legalize the murder of innocent, helpless human beings, made in the image and likeness of God, by puncturing their skulls and sucking out their brains with a high-tech medical shopvac?
Vote from your conscience. Vote from your heart.
