I would like to give a special, special, special thank you to Central Juniata EMS ambulance services. I have used them often and they are wonderful. So, kudos to Mike French and his staff. Thank you, and God bless you all.

It’s time for Steve Dunkle to get off his ego-dictatorial thing with the library … and let the money go. It’s no use holding things over people’s heads … do your job, quit spending so much time fighting the library and get on with the county business.

I would just like to say, does anyone else out there believe that neither Hillary, Sanders nor even of course Trump, are qualified to run for president? Then again, if they are all complaining, then why doesn’t someone good step up and run that everyone likes and appreciates?

When Lisa Nancollas aligned herself with Steve Dunkle in the election, I couldn’t vote for either one. I would’ve voted for her, had she not aligned herself with him. She’s just … being used by him now to do his will. So, I think she needs to start standing up on her own two feet and acting like a woman and start thinking things through.

Barack Obama should’ve gone to Pearl Harbor, honoring the men and women who died in that sneak attack by the Japanese on that fateful day on Dec 7, 1941. God bless Harry Truman for ending World War II.

Notice to all parents in the Lewistown area. Don’t take your kid to an amusement park this summer. Instead, drive them through the borough streets of Lewistown. They will get the same effect for a fraction of the cost. Take Edgewater at the intersection at Walnut Street. The pot-holes are six inches deep. That’s right, I stopped to measure them … Or better yet, Valley Street past Brian Motors … Is it any wonder businesses don’t want to move to Lewistown?

Once again, The Sentinel, in one of their shortest editorials, has hit the nail on the head with the comments about America’s friendship with Canada. It should be cherished. We should recognize the Canadians more often for their friendship … Happy Memorial Day.

Remembering my brother and all other American men and women who gave it all in those hell-holes in WWII. Obama is in Japan and has spit on their graves. Barack Obama is a disgrace to America.

I wish people that keep degrading Donald Trump on his ideas would stop taking what he said out of context. He did not say throw all these people out. He said throw the illegal ones out. Come in right. That must be such an affront and embarrassment for all the people who stood in line for the couple of years it takes to become a citizen for these people to come jumping across the border and get all the benefits that we pay for. We’re the most generous nation in the world as far as letting them in.

I was having a nice drive up Ferguson Valley Road in Oliver Township until I crossed the intersection at Jack’s Mountain Road. Surprise, no grass mowed on this side of Ferguson Valley! Why not?

To all you Trump bashers like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh: Donald Trump is the Republican nominee for president and will be the next president of the United States.

I think the former site of the Black Horse should be called the Morrison park or square since it was the former site of the Morrison Hotel before it was turned into the Black Horse.

Correct me if I’m wrong: Cuba is a communist country, Vietnam is a communist country, and yet here we see President Obama having a good old time smiling and shaking hands with these leaders. Who’s next, North Korea?

Browns Mill Square was a waste of our tax dollars. Brown Township already has two beautiful parks to use: Bender and the Reedsville playground. Why wasn’t that purchase put to a township vote? That corner lot should have been used for a business to purchase. Shame on the Brown Township Supervisors.

I was just reading the front page of The Sentinel. The morning after Mifflin County High School graduation, on the front page is the Juniata Valley Mennonite School. I think the Mifflin County High School graduation should have been on the front page on the morning after their graduation.

Editor’s note: Photos from graduation ceremonies at Juniata High School, Juniata Mennonite School and Mifflin County High School were all published on page A1 of Friday’s edition. All three schools held their graduation ceremonies on Thursday.

If we live in a democracy, how come we don’t vote for the transgender bathrooms? Doesn’t the majority rule in a democracy? Oh, I forgot, king Obama makes stipulations that if we don’t accommodate the transgender people then he’ll take away our money. Surprise!

I would like to give a big, humongous vote of appreciation for the recognition of the young men and women who are joining the military after graduation to uphold our way of life. God willing, they will arrive home safe and mature enough to not hoot and holler at one of life’s most gratifying and solemn ceremonies. Good luck to all our grads.

The booklet today (Friday) in The Sentinel of all the fire and ambulance companies was an excellent addition to the Sentinel. Thank you so much. They are all heroes who risk their lives everyday for us. God bless you all.

If you would do a little reading before you open your … mouth, you would learn that the veterans groups were 100 percent in favor of better relations with Vietnam and supported the president’s trip completely.

He blames a group of immigrants for our problems and promises to eliminate them, preaches hate as a way of hope to the poor and the beaten down and he is underestimated and not taken seriously. In the 1930s, this recipe would bring you Hitler. Today, it brings Donald Trump.

What does it say about our political system where everyone knows, and more than a lot actually say, that Trump is unqualified to be president? His wholesale ignorance of policy, his thin-skinned temper and childish behavior and his ego-feeding act that he is king and should be treated as such. This is a dangerous man who should not be anywhere near the presidency.

I would just like to thank the Lewistown Borough road crew who has been going around patching some of the alleys that have been needing patched for so long. It’s really nice to start to see a lot of the alleys getting taken care of, including the one where I live myself, is getting pretty bad, and just a thank you to them for taking the time, going out and doing some patching. It really makes a big difference. Thanks a lot.

Congratulations to all the local graduates and let’s take time to remember this holiday weekend all our loved ones who have died fighting for our country, fighting for our freedom. And Memorial Day is about more than sitting around your barbecue grill getting loaded. Memorial Day is a time to honor our loved ones who have honored our freedom. Please don’t drink and drive.

Make no mistake, Barack Hussein Obama is on an Asian apology trip. Obama will be remembered as the most incompetent commander-in-chief in modern American history.

I enjoyed your lead article on Tuesday the 24th on Jake Corman’s so-called town meeting. Monday morning at the Lewistown Country Club? I’ll bet there was an overwhelming number of average joe citizens in attendance. Or maybe they were all at work helping to pay his salary for the speech. I, for one, was not impressed.

To all you volunteers about to place flags at the cemeteries this coming week: I know some of those markers are in bad shape, but please take a few extra seconds to pull that leaning marker out of the ground and try to replace it standing straight before putting that flag on it standing proud. Quit hating on the Mifflin County wrestling team and their members. They did a great job this year and they deserve all the recognition they’re getting.

Hey, fellow veterans, the Vietnam veterans, look who just sold us out to Vietnam. Our really good president, turncoat president, has sold all us veterans out. It’s an awful shame to have a president like this.

We can be so proud of President Obama. If you watched his speech (Monday) night over in Vietnam, you would see how he presents sensitive matters in a diplomatic way and is working toward world peace and cooperation between nations and we can really, really be proud of him.

Maybe sometime Senator Corman could give us some real solutions to problems rather than repeating the same, tired, old talking points at every town hall meeting. Just out of curiosity, who pays for these events?

The fountain in Lewistown at the Five Points had to cost a lot of money, so why doesn’t the top section do anything?

Hi, I’m a person in my middle 70s who would like to give you an opinion on your Sentinel. Been getting The Sentinel for many years. It seems as though Mifflin County must really be a good place to live because there is no crime. We get all the reports from everywhere else: Mount Union, Mount Pleasant Mills, Mifflintown, Selinsgrove, except Mifflin County. We get very, very little news from Mifflin County and I’d like to see if that can be changed.

Editor’s note: All police reports that appear in The Sentinel are provided by the local police agencies.

This is in response to an Open Line (comment) that appeared in the weekend edition about wrestling. My son works very hard in wrestling and I appreciate The Sentinel recognizing that fact and publicizing it because there’s a lot of hard work involved and I’d rather see my son’s picture in the paper for wrestling than for being arrested for heroin.

I disagree with the person complaining about downtown Lewistown. I actually think it looks beautiful. The fountain with all the flags is just breathtaking. And if he or she would like to see flowers maybe they could go plant some themselves.

Would the organization that placed the dropoff boxes at the former Uni-Mart on East Walnut Street, please come and clean up the mess that is there? The boxes are full. People are dropping stuff off outside. It looks like an eyesore. It’s time that it gets cleaned up.

I’d like to comment on downtown Lewistown. What a waste of money, the planters they put in downtown Lewistown. They’re full of weeds and ugly plants. No flowers in the square anymore. All other towns have beautiful downtowns. We don’t. All we have is a fountain.

Those of you thinking that Donald Trump’s gonna be the best president that we’re gonna get, you better think again because when it comes down to this, when Donald Trump becomes president, this country’s gone, period.

Is wrestling season ever going to be over? Every day we have an article dealing with wrestling in the paper. Back in the day, other wrestlers never got as much attention as the current ones. I think there is way too much emphasis on sports in our community.

I have a comment. When you go through places like Mifflinburg, Middleburg, Selinsburg, Lewisburg or State College, you see it’s a beautiful downtown with flower planters. Ours looks horrible and is full of weeds. Whoever planted it didn’t know what they were doing. Why doesn’t the Mifflin County Garden Club take it over? Why can’t our square be beautiful like it used to be?

In (Friday’s) paper, on page A8, the California Democrats want to work on gun control. To prove that they have no respect for voters once we elect them in, read the second to last paragraph. It basically says “we work too hard on these bills, but we can’t trust the public. They want to make it a referendum, but we can’t trust the voters to do the right thing.” Read it and you’ll get the same conclusion. How can anyone be a Democrat? We don’t vote for kings and queens, we elect representatives. In their minds, you’re worthlesss once they’re in. Vote Republican for God’s sake.

I am very disappointed in The Lewistown Sentinel. In the coverage of the track and field district competition, the athletes that won first, second and third got individual attention. The relay teams were only mentioned as the relay teams. I think that when they compete and place third in the district you can at least put their names in The Sentinel. I am very disappointed in you, Sentinel. Not a good job.

Editor’s note: When the names of the relay team members are provided, they are included in results and stories.

This is to the person who said anybody who votes for Donald Trump should be committed. I believe that that person ought to be committed and actually look and listen to everybody, not just one person. Hillary Clinton, her emails, Benghazi … They’ve got to be out of their mind to vote for Hillary Clinton. And a socialist? Do we really need what’s going on in other countries with Bernie Sanders? Bernie Sanders wants socialized medicine. … Whoever wrote this … ought to be committed.

In regard to the comments (Thursday) in the opinion line, yes, we all want to try to stay positive and that’s all fine and well. However, reading every day about so-and-so buying so-and-so breakfast, lunch or dinner at (a local) diner. Who cares? Nobody cares except the people involved and it’s not very exciting reading. Fact: The opinion line provides a necessary function in that it allows people to vent, get advice and it’s a necessary thing. …

He is loud, crude, insensitive and, at times, vulgar. But when you see Donald Trump, what you see is what you get. Unlike most of all the presidential candidates who try to make us believe they are something they are not, I believe Mr. Trump is the only candidate who will actually do what he says. I’m a woman and I’m a Christian, and I intend to vote for Donald Trump.

I would like to know what prevents some creep dressing up as a woman and going into the women’s bathroom to spy on them. And then when he gets arrested, he claims he’s transgender, but he’s really not and turns around and starts suing everybody in sight, including the owner of the bathrooms and the state and everybody else. We really need to put a shutdown on this. This is getting ridiculous.

I hear that Pennsylvania’s putting a law in that first-time DUI offenders get the opportunity to have the ignition thing put in that you have to breathe into an apparatus to get your ignition to work instead of having your license suspended for a year. You know what? The third year in a row DUI-caused deaths increased in Pennsylvania. DUI arrests are up in Pennsylvania. I don’t think it’s time to make the rules lighter for these people. …

Congratulations to the Mifflin County baseball team for winning the Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division championship.

I read every day in the opinion line people just complaining about anything they can think of. Why can’t everybody in Mifflin County just stay happy? You complain every day about something different. Be happy you’re alive. Be happy you’re healthy. I see every day about young people dying of cancer or passing away unexpectedly. I’m sure they would be so happy that they are alive and healthy. I nearly had a near-death experience a few months ago and I almost passed away and I’m pretty young myself, and I’m so happy that I’m alive and well. Please, Mifflin County, try to remember, stay humble and kind.

Now it’s transgender bathrooms, next it’ll be transgender showers in the locker room. What next, liberals? It’s just the liberal way – just start at the bottom and start picking your way up until you get everything destroyed in this country. That’s why you gotta nip this thing in the bud right now. If you were born a male, then you’re a male. If you were born a female, then you’re a female. People need to get over it.

I don’t understand why it’s even an issue that’s even on the table with the transgender restrooms. Obviously, if you have the parts and the plumbing for the female persuasion, you would use the women’s restroom and if you have the parts and the plumbing for the male persuasion, you would use the male restroom. Why is this even an issue? It is ridiculous. And how many of those people do we actually have here in this town? Not many.

These environmentalists are more of a danger to our way of life than ISIS. There’s no end to what these people will do. If you put Hillary in … as president, we’ll be getting a carbon tax. Everything you do and everything you touch, probably, there’ll be a tax on it. And they will continue to grow stronger and stronger and stronger. They will actually have the ability to stop you from living a free and prosperous life. You must vote for Trump.

This is to Lauren Kershner of The Sentinel. That was an interesting article about what police have to go through to qualify as far as the physical fitness aspect. It was a well-written, interesting, informative article and you basically showed your dedication to reporting that you went through it yourself personally and kudos, that’s a job well done.

If the Washington Post is supposed to be so conservative, why are they digging up a bunch of stuff about Donald Trump? They should be digging stuff up about Hillary Clinton … She’s the one who lied to Congress, she’s the one who lied to the FBI and she’s the one who lies to the American people, most importantly. Why aren’t they digging up stuff about her? She’s the one that needs to go down, not Donald Trump. He’s going to bring this country back.

Regarding the library news (Molly Kinney’s column on Saturday): I say go for the shoe. People should be honest. Therefore, go for the shoe.

If I go to a shopping center and I see a transgender person go into the women’s room, I’m going in and checking him out and seeing what the heck he is before my wife goes in to use the bathroom. The government should keep their nose and Obama should keep his nose out of this problem with people. What are they gonna do? Put a guard at every bathroom all over the world to make sure who’s going in to use it?

Good luck in Burnham with the idea of fixing the huge water runoff problem by replacing the manhole covers. You might want to just save that money and put it toward replacing the system that will need done anyway.

Bringing dogs over from South Korea? This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. There are millions of dogs being put in shelters in the U.S. every year, waiting to be adopted. Over a million dogs are put to sleep every year. Why is all the time and resources being wasted to bring in animals from foreign countries? Ridiculous!

The Republican wimps who can’t support Donald Trump … are ignoring the wishes of the American people.

Well, I guess you see the weather continues to get worse, you environmentalists. What’s your excuse now? Are you gonna add something to the gas or take something out of the gas? Or are you gonna make another great gas cap? That’s really something for the environment. You oughta be proud of that job. What you wanna do, you wanna find out what’s making the world bad, read your Bible. You’ll find out.

I’d like to know why a certain council member, elected by the tax payers of the borough of Lewistown, can miss three meetings in a row and honestly say he’s representing the tax payers of this borough. What’s the deal?

I’d like to know what the reason is that all the sudden Herkert handed in a resignation and is leaving the area? We don’t mind talking about things way in the past that supposedly involve Joe Paterno. How come we don’t know what’s going on here in our own town?

Editor’s note: Lewistown Police Chief William Herkert retired on May 6. News of his retirement was first reported in April 28 edition of The Sentinel.

Maybe Joe Paterno made a statement he should’ve done more, but he was not the authority. Why do you think these people said they went to Joe Paterno? Why didn’t they go to the police who have the authority to do something in these situations? It wasn’t up to our football coach.

I just wanted to congratulate Sgt. Travis Sheaffer to his move to the acting police chief. I think that he’s … gonna do a heck of a job. Hopefully he gets to keep the job for a long time. Very good, Travis. Congrats, buddy.

To the person saying that Bill Clinton balanced the budget, it was the Republican-controlled Congress that sent him balanced budgets. All he did was sign them, and many times he wanted more spending but the Republicans would not give it to him.

It was a Bill that was responsible for how good things were in the 90s, but it wasn’t Bill Clinton. It was Bill Gates and the home computer. Tellin’ ya, along with the House and Senate, which was Republican-controlled.

The question is, are you better off now than you were eight years ago? And the answer’s gonna be no. Under the last tyrannical eight years of Barack Hussein Obama. And if you vote for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, is a vote of the same. You want to keep extending nothing? I mean, no income betterment? If you do want to better yourself, vote for Donald Trump. He’s your only hope.

Yeah, you better get your story straight. First of all, Bill Clinton was never impeached. You’re talkin’ about the wrong person. You better look back at Richard Nixon if you want to talk about impeachment.

Editor’s note: President Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 for perjury before a grand jury and obstruction of justice during a lawsuit against him, both related to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Clinton was acquitted by the Senate in 1999, and served his complete term of office.

The House Judiciary Committee opened impeachment proceedings against President Richard Nixon in May 1974 in the wake of the Watergate political scandal, however Nixon resigned from office before any formal impeachment could occur. He was pardoned by his successor, President Gerald Ford, in September of that same year.

Why are Americans always quick to help people and children and animals in other countries when we’ve got people, children and animals in this country that desperately need our help? Especially children and animals.

The good ol’ boys club … that didn’t make it back into the commissioners’ office again, and others, just don’t get it. Leave the present commissioners alone to do their work. Stop bashing them. It makes you complainers look narrow-minded and ignorant.

To the person worried about Hillary bringing in Bill Clinton in the White House: I think that would be an excellent idea. He’s the only president in the last 25 years that was able to balance the budget. As a matter of fact, he sent a surplus to George W., who in turn screwed it up.

This is for the person boo-hooing about Joe Paterno, whose famous words were, “I should’ve done more.” Oh, let me help – Joe Paterno! Yeah, he knew. He tried to pull the wool over everybody’s eyes.

If people are getting all these dogs in from Korea, I sure hope the Koreans don’t come over here and take our beef animals and rescue them so we don’t eat beef.

As a registered Democrat for over 40 years, I was appalled at the language Mr. Trump used, but as time goes on, he is saying what I have been feeling for a quite a long time. Now that the established politicians are turning their backs on him, I was wondering if he isn’t the best chance we have for putting a dent in the good ol’ boys. Business as usual … they seem frightened that he will take their power away, and I’m beginning to think maybe … maybe we should go for it …

Yeah, I’m sick of this blame always being put on Joe Paterno. Joe Paterno never touched anybody’s child. First of all, where is Jerry Sandusky’s responsibility in this? So, he is sitting behind bars, constantly going into a courthouse. Futhermore, where was his wife’s responsibility, where was his homeowner’s responsibility? How come the responsibility is falling on Penn State and Joe Paterno?

I have a piece of advice for our new borough manager: Stop patching borough streets. It is a waste of time and money – fix them right.

I just recently watched the video of the Mifflin County Commissioners meeting. Why in the world would those three stooges let a man like Mifflin County Coroner Dan Lynch stand there and bash the Geisinger Healthcare facility in Mifflin County? First and foremost, they are one of the largest employers in Mifflin County. Second, they are one of the biggest tax payers in Mifflin County. Third, they provide quality healthcare to inmates at a discounted rate, which is saving thousands of dollars each year.

Hillary Clinton has made the statement that if she makes it to the White House she will bring Bill out of retirement and back to the White House. An impeached president back in the White House, how great is that.

I wonder how many of those people in those van loads that Commissioner Dunkle would have had at the meeting actually had library cards …

I am an avid dog lover but I am so opposed to bringing those Korean dogs into our state. What about the diseases that they have in Korea that we don’t have here? You are just bringing those diseases to our dogs here in the United States by importing those Korean dogs. I am sorry that they are on the market, but what business of ours is it what Koreans eat?

Editor’s note: As reported in Saturday’s edition, these dogs were required to undergo extensive testing for diseases and parasites before they were permitted to enter the U.S.

I wish to thank all the people that did all of the cooking for the Mother’s Day Dinner at the Milroy Fire Co. The food was wonderful, thank you.

The Republican Party may have just entered “The Twilight Zone” but the Democratic Party’s been there forever, ever since its inception.

I would just like to thank PennDOT and the road crews for making the road between the Milroy exit and the Seven Mountains rest stop a one-lane road. Without them, we can be late going to our jobs over in State College, especially with graduation and summer vacation going on.

Kevin Kodish is 100 percent correct. Dunkle and Nancollas need to get off their high horse and send that money to the library. We need the library and the library needs us.

“Don Quixote” Dunkle, you just keep tilting at that library windmill with your faithful servant, “Sancho” Nancollas.

Voters who care about America’s future are behind Donald Trump. They’re sick and tired of the failed Republican establishement. The Donald Trump movement moves on. The Republican convention in July in Cleveland will be one of the most exciting Republican conventions in modern history.

To quote a phrase my mother used to say to my siblings and me is as important today as it was many years ago. “Wouldn’t this whole world be better if all the folks we know would stop and say to each other ‘I know something good about you’?” Try it. It might help you.

I would like to commend The Sentinel for publishing information on telephone scams in the area. It saved me from falling for the IRS scam. Thank you, Sentinel.

Can anyone tell me what “the court may seal files in double homicide case” means? …

Editor’s note: When documents are ‘sealed,’ it means the contents of those documents are allowed by a judge to remain secret and not part of the publically-available record.

It’s been (said) that Commissioner Dunkle is operating as the advocate of his own personal vendetta. The person we should be calling out is Commissioner Lisa Nancollas. Dunkle could not institute his initiatives against the library director and the board without her supporting vote. …

I think libraries are as obsolete as 300 pounds of encyclopedias.

In reply to the caller of May 4, you say Steve Dunkle “is a very nice person.” Are you kidding me? He has a personal vendetta going against the library. In addition, I fail to see how cutting $5,000 in library funds “does good work for everybody.”

This goes out to commissioners Dunkle and Nancollas: We’re tired of your child-like temper tantrums. Give the library the money that is budgeted for them. You want an apology? Here. I’m sorry I voted for you two. Quit being ignorant and be professionals.

The Mitch McConnells, the John Boehners and the rest of the Republican wimps made promises they didn’t keep. They caved in to Barack Obama on every important issue. The American people are sick of it, so we had the Donald Trump movement to make America great again.

As a child growing up in the 1960s and ’70s, my parents taught me you cannot spend more than what you earned. Now, somebody needs to tell Juniata County School Board this. We’re going in debt in a hurry. One of these days we’ll be broke and as a taxpayer, I cannot afford to pay any more.

Now we pay a lot of money in taxes in this area and I would just like to know when some of that money is gonna be used to fix all the potholes.

I’m glad to see that the borough is mowing the grass at the fountain at the Five Points. It looks much nicer. I’d like to thank them.

Who got to the FBI? The FBI investigation on Hillary Clinton’s email has slowed to a snail’s pace. She will never get an indictment, although she’s guilty as sin.

This is for the people who keep calling in about the library and Steve Dunkle: Find something else in your life to be nasty about. He’s a very nice person, does good work for everybody. If you have a problem with the library or you’re an ex-employee of the library or something, then get off it. Move on to something else.

Kathleen Kane has taken quite a beating because she was trying to clean house while others preferred that the dirt be swept under the rug.

This is the Mifflin County Library Director calling. At the behest of the Mifflin County Library Board, I am responding to the concern expressed about services at the Kish Branch library. The library board is not considering any operational changes for the Kish Branch despite rumors and “warnings” to the contrary.

It may be me, but why is there no listing for Mifflin County Regional Police in my phone book?

Editor’s note: Mifflin County Regional Police Department’s non-emergency phone number is 248-1900.

Now that I’m getting old, I often ask myself “What am I doing?” And the answer is always the same. If I knew what I was doing, I never would have been born.

If PennDOT wants to raise the speed limit on any roads around here, they should do it on Route 322 between Boalsburg and Harrisburg. If there’s any road you can do 70 miles an hour on, except in a couple spots, it’s Route 322.

If financial cuts to the Mifflin County Library continue, first the branches will close. Then the main library in Lewistown. Apparently, the goal of Commissioner Dunkle is to do away with all library services in Mifflin County.

Look, it’s not Donald Trump creating havoc and riots at his rallies. It’s these people coming in from the Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders side, that’s the ones that are rioting. You never see anybody from the Republican side going to a Democrat anything and rioting the way these idiots do from the Democratic side. So, you wanna talk about who’s wacko in this country, turn your face to the Democrats ’cause that’s where the wackoness is at.

C’mon, PennDOT, on top of Seven Mountains at the rest stop. Here it is, Monday, May 2, and the rest stop is not open. This coming weekend is Mother’s Day weekend, people are gonna be traveling. Plus, you have graduation starting at the end of this week from Penn State. You got people from out of state traveling all the way to Penn State. Where is the mind of these people not opening up that rest stop so people can stop by? My God, this is the last place to stop before they get to Penn State. It’s the largest college in Pennsylvania, one of the most well-known colleges in the country. And here we got something that people have to stop along the road and do their business without an outhouse?

I’m not fond of the strong-arm tactics being employed by the commissioners, but I do question the numbers that were used to justify the branch closures along with the secrecy that was employed. Also, the local municipal governments should consider greatly increasing their contributions in support of the local library. They provide pitiful little.

Commissioner Dunkle needs to do some time management. If he would spend his time worrying about the problems of Mifflin County instead of this vendetta against the Mifflin County Library, this would be greatly appreciated.

For these two commissioners: Running this county by misusing power as spoiled brats and by bullying is immature and irresponsible. If this is allowed to continue, it will result in the ruin of our beloved Mifflin County.

In the two weeks before Christmas, you would only print positive comments in the Open Line. I’d like to see for two weeks, you print only positive things in your editorials. It seems like everything’s always negative. So how about two weeks of positive for that, to be fair.

The short, but deadly accurate editorial in the weekend Sentinel is something every, every American needs to look at, read, think about. It shows why this country is slowly slipping into an abyss of weakness and tragedy. It also shows why this election is so vitally important that we position our military as invincible, don’t mess with us and we’ll find that we won’t have to have our military personnel murdered piece by piece, as Obama’s practice has done and continues to do.

Several years ago, the Mifflin County Library received a financial cut which resulted in them being forced to close several library branches. Will this present cut from Mr. Dunkle result in reduced services to the Belleville branch?

I go to Milroy four days a week in the morning, between 8:30 and 9:30. Not turning your lights on may be dangerous, but I’ll tell you what else is more dangerous. I put my speed control on at 58 miles an hour. Everything passes me except the one-horse Dutch buggy. That includes cars with blue license plates, state police, a corrections bus – they’re all doing 65 or better. Now where is the danger in lights not being on? These cars just go, go, go and they don’t seem to ticket them. Let’s be fair for everybody. Turn your lights on … and let’s do the speed limit.

I have just one word for how the millenials are changing our downtown Lewistown: barf.

I agree 300 percent with the article in Saturday’s paper, “Facebook first: When did this happen?”
