Many thanks for making National Night Out a hit
To the editor:
We would like to take a moment to deliver a heartfelt thank you to those who donated and participated in the 2014 National Night Out in Rec Park on Aug. 5, 2014. The many families with their children that attended the event were able to meet their community police officers and emergency workers and learn about crime prevention.
Additionally, the event allowed for families to be educated through fun activities, games and handouts explaining the services and work of many organizations.
We appreciate the officers of the Lewistown Police Department, Sgt. James Carter with Granville Township Police Department, Pennsylvania State Trooper Christopher Fox, Lewistown Fire Police, the Mifflin County Community Watch Groups, Lewistown Borough-Streets Department, Rec Park Farmers’ Market, Downtown Lewistown Incorporated, City Hook & Ladder, Brooklyn Hose Co., United Fire & Rescue, Fame EMS, Red Cross, Susquehanna Fire Equipment, DCNR with Smokey The Bear, Giant Food Store-Lewistown, The Trolley Car, Middleswarth Potato Chips-Lewistown Operation, Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, Seven Mountains’ Jeep Club, Boy Scouts-Troop 7, Keystone Muscle Cars, Touring Friends Motorcycle Club, American Cruizers, Lakeview Neurocare, Mifflin County Communities That Care, The Abuse Network, South Hills Business School, Kiwanis, DJ Rod Wilson, Geisinger Medical Group-The Family Plan, PLCB, Clear Concepts, Mifflin County Savings Bank, Lewistown Welding, Snedeker Energy, Brannon & Royer and Grace United Methodist Church.
