Thanks to supporters of IVES Spring Festival

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks and appreciation to all of the organizations and businesses for your donations to our third annual Indian Valley Elementary Spring Festival that were so greatly appreciated. Many thanks go out to students and their families for their generosity and donations as well. As the years go by I am always touched by the generosity from our supporters that continue to help us in our mission to provide our students with a wonderful school experience.

Special thanks go out to the following festival chairs: Somer Weiss (games and activities), Robin Knepp (food donations), Michele McKinney, Dana Shank and Gina Himes (kitchen operations). Also to everyone that came early to set up and/or stayed late to wash and clean up. To those who helped throughout the festival. This evening is a tradition I think everyone enjoys and remembers.

Each year I try to mention the numerous volunteers that every year continue to go the extra step to help using vacation days, putting in many long hours, and so forth. This includes our families who our able to help out at home when our absence occurs from working on the events throughout the year. I have enjoyed working with those mentioned below and everyone else who has helped. We always have many family members, friends and others that help with all of these events. I truly hope you know how appreciated you are.

Many thanks to those who have helped chair the different committees throughout the year with the other various activities and events that are enjoyed so much. Amy Dillon (yearbook), Christina Campbell (school-wide fundraiser). volunteer list (Tracy Shade), Julie Henry and Deb Yoder (Fourth grade fundraiser), Clarissa McKnitt (classroom supplies), Clarissa McKnitt, Thea Leddy, Lisa Stringfellow (Christmas craft), Cheryl Himes and Danielle Smith (Santa’s visit), Julie Henry (variety show), Karen Kahley (A+ awards and Campbells labels), Amy Dillon and Nicole Yoder (book fair), Jen McCarter (field day), Thea Leddy and Robin Knepp (teacher’s appreciation week), Thea Leddy (teacher’s luncheon), fifth grade teachers and parents (fifth grade fundraiser) and Jen McCarter (spirit drive).

This year also brought us a new library area to help organize and set up. Thanks to those of you who set aside quite a few days to help out with this project.

We are reminded again and again how helpful the custodial staff is in providing areas for storage and any equipment we needed as well as being so flexible with the hours for our festival to clean for the evening. We are grateful for their help as well as for the help provided by Mrs. Kline and Ms. Nickel in the office.

Thank you to the teachers whom have been instrumental in many of these activities as well as others of their own including our Holiday Activities, Parent Involvement Activities, and more. Also, a huge thank you to Mr. LaMarca for his assistance and continued support with all of the events we were involved in these past three years.

Again, many warm thanks to all your dedication to our school. To anyone who may have not been mentioned directly, please do not think your help has gone unnoticed. You have all been a part in making Indian Valley Elementary such a wonderful place, something we hope can continue for all the years to come.
