Thanks for making ‘IV’s Got Talent’ a success

To the editor:

On Saturday, April 26, Indian Valley Elementary School held their first ever Indian Valley’s Got Talent Show. That night was full of amazing acts ranging from singing, dancing, and piano playing to magic tricks, comedy skits and tumbling performed by over 50 students. A lot of time and effort was put into the event and I would like to take a minute to offer some thank yous to those people, groups, and businesses who offered their support.

First, thank you to The Sentinel and MERF Radio for advertising our event to the public.

Second, thank you to B’s Screen Printing and Embroidery and the Mifflin County High School Store for donating items that were used as prizes for our drawing for both the audience and participants.

Third, thank you to the Mifflin County High School students involved in both the stage crew and videotaping. I greatly appreciate your help in videotaping the event so families can have a keepsake from the event.

Fourth, thank you to the Mifflin County Middle School Drama Club. These students helped organize the acts backstage and made sure they were ready to go when it was their turn.

Fifth, thank you to the Mifflin County High School custodians for opening the building and helping with whatever we needed.

Sixth, thank you to the Mifflin County School Board for supporting our event and waiving the usage fee for the high school.

Seventh, thank you to the Mifflin County High School administration for allowing us to use the great facilities at the high school to help make our performance perfect.

A big thank you goes to Matt Moore who ran all the audio/visual aspects. I greatly appreciate your willingness to work with us and even more for giving up your time to support our event.

Another big thank you goes to the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, guardians and anyone in our audience. Thank you for putting in the time to practice with the participants and organizing their acts! Also, thank you for your support! It was definitely a night to remember.

Finally, thank you to the Variety Show Committee made up of Heather Knepp-Crader, Christina Campbell, Judy Wagner and Michele McKinney. You were all very easy to work with and helped things run very smoothly. I appreciate your willingness and support throughout the entire process from the planning of the event to the actual show. A very special thank you to another committee member, Jen McCarter, who not only helped greatly in the planning and execution, but helped serve as emcee for the night.

Hopefully, this is only the beginning and the show will continue to grow. I hope to see everyone there next year!
