Mini-THON at EJ earns $6,200 to fight cancer
To the editor:
On Friday March 28, East Juniata’s Student Council held our second annual Four Diamonds Mini-THON! We were able to raise $6,200.
This would not have been possible without the various donations from local businesses and citizens in the community. Businesses that donated include: Regester’s Chevrolet, Dean’s Store, Subway, Fox’s Pizza, Burger King, Giant Foods, Sal’s OIP, Marlette Homes, the Corner Deli, Cocolamus Creek Disposal, Marvin C. Fultz and H&R Block, State Farm, Squire Brown, Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Hunter, Bonnie Roberts, Serendipity, McDonald’s, Tanning Cabana, Hoffman Brothers Lumber, and the Richfield OIP.
All of these businesses helped us greatly surpass what we raised last year. Whether it was a cash donation, raffle prizes, or refreshment accommodation, these businesses greatly helped our cause. We hope to raise even more money next year, and we hope the community will once again stand behind us in our fight against childhood cancer. “One day when childhood cancer is cured, we will dance for joy. Until then we dance for life.” Due to your support and generosity there was definitely nothing “Mini” about us. FTK (For The Kids)!
