Finds understanding after reading new study

To the editor:

I recently read that a new study by the National Science Foundation reveals that 26 percent of the 2,200 individuals surveyed in 2012 when asked, “Does the Earth go around the Sun, or does the Sun go around the Earth,” answered incorrectly.

Furthermore, only half of those surveyed understood that antibiotics are ineffective against viruses.

Now I have a better understanding why 47 percent of the voting public voted to elect Barack Obama as president.
