Juniata County Veterans Council parade a success
To the editor:
On Nov 9, the Juniata County Veterans Council held their annual Veterans Day Parade in Port Royal.
The council wants to thank the Juniata County High School Marching Band, the East Juniata County High School Marching Band and their directors, cheerleaders, and flag bearers, the Juniata County Sheriff’s Department, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 298, Thompsontown Amvets Post 122, Fayette Township EMS, Thompsontown Ambulance Co., Mifflintown Hose Co. No. 1, Mifflin Fire Dept No. 2, Central Juniata EMS, Beale Township Fire Co., Port Royal EMS, Friendship Fire Co. No. 1, Port Royal, Girl Scout Troop, Port Royal, Cub Scout Packs No. 60, Mifflintown, No. 46 from Port Royal, No. 65 from McAlisterville, the Cheer Force All-Stars from Lewistown, 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Club from Port Royal, and all others who participated in this annual event, and to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and especially the Port Royal Borough for their assistance.
The council would like to thank all the personnel, groups etc. that have given their time in helping out the Juniata County Veterans Council in their endeavors this past year.
The veterans council also wishes to acknowledge the newspaper editors, writers, photographers, etc. from The (Lewistown) Sentinel, The Times, the Juniata Sentinel from Mifflintown, and The Hometown Shopper, Patriot-News, Perry County Times, Millerstown Shopper for their continued newspaper coverage of various veteran events.
I also want to thank the local radio stations for their continued support: Dan at WJUN, Erick Lane at WKVA and Mary Lee at MERF radio.
