Mentored squirrel hunt set tone for many others
To the editor:
We would like to thank all of our generous sponsors for supporting the first annual squirrel hunting tournament held on Oct. 12. We had a great turn-out for the mentored hunt, with lots of positive input from the kids, as well as the dads. Many commented on a great day in the woods together and stated they are looking forward to next year. That made it all worthwhile.
We realize that, as with any new event, there are details to be worked out before next year’s hunt rolls around. To all of you who participated, please don’t forget to attend the free supper being held this Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren in Longfellow. Door prizes are being given, and nobody will leave without a prize. If in need of directions, please call 899-6929.
Thanks again to the following sponsors, with special recognition for Kline’s Market in McVeytown. They were very generous to print fliers for us, as well as make their facility available for weigh-ins. We appreciate their enthusiasm. Thanks to the following: Irvin Hill Logging, CL Renninger Logging, Class 1 Transport, Brian’s Auto Body and Trailer Sales, Ranck’s Butcher Shop, Todd’s Auto Repair, Stringer’s Mechanical, Joe Young Logging, Joe Yoder Logging, Dustin Fultz Logging, Steve McKnight Logging, Hurley’s Service Center, and Renninger Log Homes. We are looking forward to a nice supper on Saturday, and anticipating next’s years hunt.
Rusty and Deb Renninger
