Pro-life group meets for prayer on the square

To the editor:

In mid-summer type heat 75 people attended Lewistown’s Life Chain at Monument Square. The prayerful group heard remarks from Micaiah Bilger, representative of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation. Mrs. Bilger stated how various pro life prayer groups have been instrumental in reducing the amount of abortions in the state of Pennsylvania. Five abortion stores have closed in the state. Her greatest concern was the new medical insurance (Obamacare) might enforce those desiring abortions.

Rev. Bailey and Rev. Weary led the prayer groups in asking our Lord to have our political leaders change their hearts to supporting life. They emphasized to the group to have patience and to consider that the group was made up of people who could be considered new prophets. It was noted how the prophets of old had to wait years and years to see the fulfillment of their prophecies. Do not lose heart!

They emphasized scripture, Psa. 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.” and Psa. 37:9, “For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land” as God’s Words that he will act.

Hopefully we will be having a pro life march in January.
