Milroy Lions plan to give profits to LUMINA Center

To the editor:

Milroy Lions Club wishes to thank all who supported our spaghetti supper last month. We are able to make a $500 donation to Shelter Survivors Inc. of Lewistown to help fund construction work being done.

We will be having our next spaghetti supper on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the White Memorial Church, Main Street, Milroy and are severing from 4 to 7 p.m.

On a motion by Paul Kline, this month’s net profit will be given to the LUMINA Center in Lewistown.

There is really no way to measure the benefit the center provides for the youth of our community.

With limited staff and many volunteers, this group provides many useful services to our youth.

We thank the people of vision who started this great activity center. They provide so much more than just a place to hang out, from assisting with homework, to many other stimulating activities. Time at the center is time well spent.

Our compliments to everyone that help make this program work, week in and week out.

We hope to see you on Oct. 17.

Please remember we charge by donation only, so you can afford to join us and support this fundraiser.
