Food pantry will benefit from campground event
To the editor:
Although many people wish the warm days of summer would never end, others anticipate the cool, brisk days of fall that indicate another football season. Regardless of whether you’re in the huddle, on the sidelines, or in the bleachers, everyone wants their team to win. Of course, in order to win, a lot of teamwork is needed. Our local food pantry also requires cooperation to serve the needs of our community. It not only takes dedicated people to give of their time, but also those that generously give monetary and material donations.
Century 21 Above and Beyond, Mifflintown is providing you with an opportunity to contribute to our local food pantry’s ongoing success. On Sunday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Century 21 will be hosting “Putting Community First” at Buttonwood Campground. Rain date will be Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. The event will raise funds for the Juniata County Food Pantry. For just $10, ($9 if you donate a nonperishable item) you can play a game of miniature golf, enjoy plenty of snacks, and participate in various contests with chances to win some great prizes. And since we mentioned football earlier, two lucky winners will acquire a pair of tickets to the Penn State vs. Illinois football game on Nov. 2. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this fun evening to support your local food pantry. Remember, unlike football, hunger knows no season.
