National Night Out keeps growing strong in county

To the editor:

Mifflin County Regional Police Department would like to thank the community for their support of National Night Out 2013. Since the event has been held in Mifflin County, it has steadily grown thanks to all of the area businesses and individuals that donate and give back to their community.

Those who donated in 2013 were: The Abuse Network, Touring Friends and the All-American Cruizers Car Club, FAME EMS, Charles Dicken with the Block Watch Programs, Craig Snyder DJ Services, MC Kops 4 Kids, Ron’s Fruit Market, Lewistown Welding, Yeagertown Fire Department, Four Star Coins and Jewelry and Hartley’s Chips.

National Night Out is meant to unite individuals and communities against crime. It is also a change to get out and meet and socialize with your neighbors. The event is held the first Tuesday in August across the nation. Next year, Mifflin County Regional Police Department plans to host the event in Belleville, Union Township.

We hope to see everyone out with their neighbors. Thank you to all those who donated in 2013.
