Thanks to the Lewistown Hospital for mother’s care
To the editor:
On Sunday, June 16, our mother, Edna McClure was admitted to Lewistown Hospital through the emergency room with pneumonia.
She could not say enough about Lewistown Hospital, the ER and the staff. From Dr. Syed, the ER doctor who completely understood her living will decisions; to the admitting staff; to Alex, Tom Lepley and Dan from respiratory.
Mom spent the next five days on the fifth floor with the exception of eight hours in telemetry for a heart monitor. Once again the staff on these floors went above and beyond in caring for our mother. She has been completely deaf for 27 years so they had to communicate by writing, no easy task.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Toni Latherow, RN and Karen Napikoski, patient care director for their understanding of our mother’s wishes and thank all the fifth floor staff for her care. Mom is home and continues to improve.
Truly, Lewistown Hospital is the hometown hospital, with a hometown staff who absolutely puts the patient first.
Than you and God bless you all.
