Praises Sentinel for ‘fair stance’ on abortion issues
To the editor:
The people of Mifflin and Juniata counties are fortunate to have a fair and balanced newspaper. I say that as I have dealt with some “big” city newspapers who were much less balanced but surely unfair. In many cases their reporters became editorial writers in the stories projecting their biased opinions in their reports. We congratulate you on your human life efforts. Many many newspapers would not even accept letters much less write editorials on pro life.
In your May 23 and May 24 editorials you strike at the heart of the contributions of why we have children being shot in school and on the street. Some of today’s society has very little respect for human life. Your “PC run amok with ‘morning after’ pill” and “Clinic horrors don’t stop with Gosnell” editorials reveal two prime reasons why society has no respect. Two sentences hit the mark. Key words in those sentences are “government” and “Political correctness.”
“The government has restricted their access to any number of products with fewer potentially harmful side effects than Plan B. Children cannot obtain many drugs without their parents’ permission,” and
“Political correctness is running amok. Let’s hope the appeals court has a better understanding of
the difference between women
Your “It is difficult to read about what went on for years in Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s abortion clinic in Philadelphia without being horrified, sickened and outraged” should be on every pro abortion person reading this letter. Maybe then they will understand that it is a child, not a choice.
It is the same PC that has led to Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s abortion clinic in Philadelphia. Certain abortion promoters who support Planned Parenthood are being accused of a lack of enforcement and control of these premises. The quickest way to enforcement and control would be to not have abortion. The politicians would be at a loss for words. Even the White House and their abortion promotions would be at a loss.
President-elect Barack Obama told Planned Parenthood: “The first thing I would do as president is to sign the Freedom of Choice Act.” The Freedom of Choice Act will eradicate nearly every state and federal abortion law that protects the unborn baby. It would also prevent states from enacting any similar protective measures for the unborn in the future. In effect the President is supporting the Gosnell types.
And overall abortion numbers are decreasing, However, black abortions are increasing with an overall 19 percent increase. Hispanic abortions are also increasing at a 10 percent increase.
“Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required” (Genesis 42:22).
“Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths” (Isaiah 59:7)
Let us remember Psalm 94:2:
“They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.”
