Pet Pantry says thanks to communities for support

To the editor:

We are writing this with a huge sincere “thank you” for the businesses, people of this community and the friends and family of The Mifflin County and Juniata County Pet Pantry.

With the year end closing totals for 2012, we were able to provide 34,910 pounds of pet food for the pets of our local counties. What an amazing year it has been and we are looking forward to another successful year in 2013. If anyone has suggestions or fundraising ideas, please give us a call at 513-7868 or visit us on Facebook. Our website is If you are not familiar with what we are all about, please take a look and let us know what you think.

We provide pet food through our local food bank (Mifflintown) and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard (Lewistown) to help families who are in need of assistance to provide food for their family pets. Our long-term goal is to prevent families from having to surrender their pets to a rescue or shelter because they can’t afford to feed them. All the continued support and volunteers helping with fundraisers are the ones to thank for this successful year. What an amazing amount of pet-loving people we have and we are grateful. The hungry pets are grateful. A full belly makes a happy pet.
