Be smart when celebrating the arrival of 2019 tonight
To say 2018 has been an eventful year would be an understatement to say the least. We don’t yet know what 2019 has in store for us, but we do know that many of you will ring in the new year tonight with some sort of celebration, be that at one of local community events, at a private party or maybe just watching the ball drop in Times Square on TV.
We just hope whatever you decide to do to ring in the new year, you do it safely.
If you drink, please don’t drive. Make arrangements to stay the night where you are, call a cab or get a ride from a friend who hasn’t been drinking.
And please be considerate of those who may live nearby. It may be a lot of fun to go out and shoot guns or fireworks into the air, but that can be very dangerous, not only to you, but to everyone else in the neighborhood. In many places, it’s also illegal.
2019 promises to be a great year. We just hope everyone starts it off safely.
From everyone here at The Sentinel, we wish everyone a fabulous new year.
