Ezra T. Peachey

Ezra T. Peachey, 93, of 163 Susan Drive, Belleville, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019 at his home.

Born Nov. 1, 1925 in Belleville, he was the son of the late Simon and Susan (Bawel) Peachey.

His wife, Nannie M. (Peachey) Peachey, whom he married Aug. 25, 1955, survives at home.

In addition to his wife, Ezra is survived by his three children: Nathaniel M. Peachey and wife Sheri (Troyer), of Greensboro, N.C., Jonathan C. Peachey and wife Mary Elaine (Stauffer), of Espanola, N.M., and E. Timothy Peachey and wife Carolyn (Capabanco) of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sylvanus S. Peachey, of Belleville.

Ezra was preceded in death by five brothers: Steve Peachey, Alvin Peachey, Aaron Peachey, Eli Peachey and Simon Peachey; and by three sisters: Melinda Peachey, Amelia Graber and Emma Zook.

Ezra and his wife served as missionaries for 45 years in the Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, area and several of the northern communities there. He was the pastor at Believers Fellowship Church in Red Lake. They relocated to Belleville in 2005 after his retirement and became members of the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church.

He very much enjoyed being in the north and in the outdoors.

His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Valley View Amish Mennonite Church with Ministers Matthew Peachey, Wayne Shrock, David Peachey and Eli King officiating.

Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery following the service. His family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Valley View Church.
