Anna Margaret (Peachey) Yoder

Anna Margaret (Peachey) Yoder, 85, of Valley View Terrace, Belleville, passed away at 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Anna Margaret was born March 21, 1933, in Belleville, the daughter of the late Nelda R. and Miriam (Kauffman) Peachey. Her spouse, G. Allen Yoder, whom she married Jan. 2, 1954, preceded her in death Nov. 4. 2000.

Anna is survived by: four children, Susan K. Newcomer and husband, Lynn, of Ulysses, Pa., Jay A. Yoder and wife, Nancy, of Huntingdon, Arlene M. Byler and husband, Darrel, of Allensville, Pa. and Beth A. Finkbiner and husband, Craig, of McAlisterville; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a sister, Sarah Yoder and husband, Leon, of Lewistown.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gideon Peachey, an infant brother, Leon Eugene Peachey and a stillborn brother.

Anna Margaret graduated from Menno-Union High School in 1951. She and her husband served in 1W service in Brattleboro, Vt. soon after they were married. She was primarily a homemaker, but she was once employed as a clerk at Weimer’s Store in Allensville; she owned and operated Allensville Garden Market for 10 years and she managed the cafe at Valley View Haven for over 10 years.

She and her husband always enjoyed traveling together. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, embroidering and making quilts. When living at the Terrace, she would often be found playing dominos or bingo with her friends or maintaining the flower boxes.

She was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church, where she and her husband taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was also a volunteer at Big Valley Thrift & Gift for many years.

Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Valley View Haven Chapel with Pastors Max Zook and Ivan Yoder officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Locust Grove Cemetery. Her family will recieve friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the chapel on Friday.
