Linda L. (Brannon) First

Linda L. (Brannon) First, 73, of Mifflintown, passed away at 10:16 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2018, at AristaCare at Hearthside in State College.

Born on Sept. 1, 1945, in Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of the late Earl and Charlotte (McNitt) Brannon. On May 17, 1991, she married her surviving husband, Robert R. First, with whom she was blessed to share more than 27 years of marriage.

Mrs. First is survived by: her children, Steven Metzgar and his wife, Jennifer, of Belleville, Scott Metzgar and his wife, Stacey, Jason First and his wife, B.J., and Jaclyn First, all of Lewistown; a sister, Nancy Tuffel, of Naples, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Todd Metzgar.

Linda was employed in food service, first beginning at the Red Barn in Lewistown for more than 20 plus years and finally retiring as a manager for Barrett Enterprises who owned the McDonald’s locations in Mifflin, Juniata and Perry counties.

She was a Methodist by faith, who loved gardening, decorating her home outdoors and for the holidays. Linda was an animal lover who truly loved her dogs, Maggie and Bella.

All services will be private with the Rev. Donald Walters officiating. Interment will follow at the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

There will be no viewing.

The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial contributions in Mrs. First’s memory may be made to R.O.F.F., 133 N. Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009.
